Besides the deer I see outside my patio, there are also several wild turkeys that roam around. Earlier in the week I noticed some new additions to their family. Last night I was able to grab a few shots of the new baby turkeys. They are darling. They follow the adults around in a line much like ducks do. At one point, one of the babies had been straggling behind the group and I saw him (or her?) take off sprinting across the grass to catch up with the others. That definitely made me smile because it was just so cute.

Too cute! A yard full of potential Thanksgiving dinners….
Of course you know the turkey was proposed by Ben Franklin to be the National symbol of the U.S.A.? Well, I got a couple of picks of the bird that won out and they’re up at my place.

Very cute post! We used to see wild turkeys often at our home in Pittsburgh. Our current home must be too suburban for them–not enough wild space in-between.

That thars good eatin’! ;) But I’ll get mine at the supermarket. There is nothing quite like a wild animal in its natural habitat.

Great shots Brooke!
We have turkeys here too but in the two years we’ve lived here we haven’t seen any babies. I’m a little envious. :)

You have a lot of animals in your garden! It’s wonderful to see those chicks running around. One of my daughter’s turkey chicks was taken by either a snake or a goanna. Too bad!

It is good to see that you got the young turkey photo. I have tons of turkey photographs, but very few of the young ones. It seems I seldom get to see them until they are almost grown or I only see them in tall grass and am unable to film or photograph them.
